Hi, I’m Kate!
I’m the founder and primary writer behind Nonstop North Carolina, a NC travel blog dedicated to exploring every enchanted corner of the Tar Heel State–one waterfall, plate of barbecue, and road trip at a time.
My husband Jeremy, our young child, and our beloved dog Ranger call the Triangle area home, and we’re on a mission to experience 1000 unique things to do in North Carolina–and then to keep going!
Our NC bucket list is ever-growing, but visiting every county seat, every state park, and every state historic site are just a few things at the top of the list.
It may take us a bit longer, but a few long term North Carolina travel dreams include diving some of the state’s many shipwrecks and hiking the Mountains-to-Sea Trail!

The sky is the limit, but as a travel writer who has visited 50+ countries, lived abroad, and ultimately decided that there was no better place on the planet to raise our family in than beautiful North Carolina, I am passionate about showing off just how special the Old North State is.
While I am not a born-and-raised North Carolinian, my family has deep roots here going back well over a century, and I have been visiting at least once a year since I was born.
For me, it’s simply not summer without a trip to Atlantic Beach and Beaufort, and in many ways, living here feels like finally coming home.

My goal for Nonstop North Carolina is to curate an in-depth North Carolina travel guide, useful to everyone from first-time visitors looking to deepen their beach trip or mountain getaway to lifelong locals curious about under-the-radar small towns, hikes, or quirky attractions that may be lurking close to home.
Whether you are a longtime local or taking your first trip, we’d love to be part of your Tar Heel State travels.
Thank you so much for stopping by–we’re thrilled to have you here!
